Ambuja Schools across regions outshine in CBSE 10 & 12 Board Exams

Mumbai, 19th August, 2022: The performance of the 739 students of the five Ambuja Schools, located in the vicinity of the company’s integrated plants, who appeared for the CBSE Board examinations of Class 10 and Class 12, has been nothing short of excellent. These students faced a period rife with challenges as they dodged intermittent lockdowns, change in exam pattern, online classes and hybrid learning that clearly disrupted the learning-teaching process.

The five schools managed by the Ambuja Vidya Niketan (AVN) Trust are: AVN Ambujanagar; Ambuja Public School, Rabriyawas; Ambuja Vidya Peeth, Rawan (Bhatapara); AVN Upparwahi, (MCW); and DAV-AVN, Darlaghat.

In Class 10, of the 396 students (204 boys and 192 girls) who appeared for the examinations (20 more than last year), 76 students scored over 90%;and 271 scored between 60% and 90%. Two students – Dewang Mahajan (APS Rabriyawas) and Khushi Agarwal (AVP Rawan) – led from the front with a whopping score of 98.67%; meanwhile, AVP Rawan – the most sought-after school in the region – clocked the highest class average of 81.5%.

In Class 12, of the 343 students (206 boys and 137 girls) who appeared for the examinations (90 more than last year), 168 students scored over 75%, performing well in all streams – Science, Commerce and Humanities – where highest scores were improved from last year. The toppers were Arya Singh (AVN Upparwahi): 97% in Science, Aman Dulani (AVP Rawan) and Alma Aleck (AVN Upparwahi): 98% in Commerce; and Shamita Rawal (APS Rabriyawas): 97.6% in Humanities.

Mr. Neeraj Akhoury, CEO India Holcim and MD & CEO of Ambuja Cements Ltd., said: “The preceding two years haven’t been easy on anyone in general and students in particular. Learning modes were anything but normal and students have had to go through great difficulties to not just study but even concentrate during these anxious times. In this context, I’m extremely proud that students of the Ambuja Schools have come out with flying colours in the Class 10 and 12 CBSE Board examinations, among the most difficult and testing in India. I wish them glorious careers and fulfilling lives.”

Brimming with joy, Principal Ipsita Choudhury of APS Rabriyawas said, “I speak on behalf of all Ambuja Principals that despite a year fraught with uncertainties, it is the timely intervention and support in the form of focused tutorials, one-on-one counseling sessions with professionals that has attributed to our collective success.” Principal Sanjay Pandey of AVP Rawan said that keeping up the morale of the teachers was equally important. “Various forums were created for them to speak up, channel their energies and collaborate with their counterparts from the other Ambuja schools. This definitely helped them help our students sail through a stressful period.”

Overall, the five schools have moved from strength-to-strength with every passing year, thanks to the unstinted support and encouragement of Ambuja Cements’ management and AVN Trust. For the upcoming academic year, efforts are on to understand the gaps in learning and focus on overcoming the roadblocks.
