Nand Ghar Organised District-Wide ‘Samman Samaroh’ in Udaipur to Celebrate Grassroots Champions of Child Welfare

Udaipur, Rajasthan, 12th August 2025. In a heartfelt celebration of dedication and service, the Nand Ghar Samman Samaroh was organised in Udaipur to recognise and felicitate the top performing Anganwadi workers from across the district. The event, supported by Vedanta’s flagship social impact Nand Ghar, brought together over 300 Anganwadi workers (didis), senior state and district officials along with ICDS Director Mr. Vasudev Malawat, DD, ICDS, Udaipur, Mr. Nandlal Meghwal and Group CSR Head (Vedanta Group), Ms. Anupam Nidhi in a grand acknowledgement of the pivotal role these women play in transforming rural childcare and education.
The ceremony honoured 50 Nand Ghar Didis who have demonstrated exceptional commitment towards improving child nutrition, early childhood education, and women’s empowerment. By recognising these changemakers, Nand Ghar aims to inspire excellence and further strengthen grassroots efforts in realising health, nutrition and early education outcomes through strong community ownership.
Senior district officials and representatives from the Department of Women and Child Development attended the event, underscoring the importance of collaboration between government, corporate, and community stakeholders. The gathering served as a platform to exchange best practices, share success stories, and renew the collective resolve to improve health and learning outcomes for children in rural Rajasthan.
Speaking on the occasion, Director, Integrated Child Development Services, Rajasthan, Vasudev Malawat said, “The partnership with Nand Ghar is helping us strengthen the Anganwadi network across Rajasthan. With 334 Nand Ghars in Udaipur district and over 5,000 across the state, these modernised Anganwadis are ensuring that children receive quality early education and nutrition, while women gain access to skill development and opportunities for empowerment.”
Nand Ghar CEO, Mr. Shashi Arora further added, “Our Nand Ghar Didis are the backbone of the Nand Ghar Program. By recognising their dedication in this event today, we are not just celebrating their achievements, but also inspiring communities to work together for the health, nutrition, education of children, and empowerment of women. The Nand Ghar Samman Samaroh in Udaipur served not only as a platform to celebrate excellence but also as a reaffirmation of the collective resolve to improve nutrition, health, education, and empowerment outcomes across rural Rajasthan.

This Samman Samaroh in Udaipur marks the first in a series of regular recognition ceremonies that will be conducted across all districts where Nand Ghar operates. By making recognition a structured and recurring part of its engagement, Nand Ghar aims to ensure that the dedication of these frontline workers is consistently acknowledged, celebrated, and shared as an inspiration for others.
