Muthoot Finance successfully completes construction of Smart Anganwadi in association MP Hibi Eden in Moolampilly
Kochi, 16 September, 2022: Muthoot Finance, India’s largest gold loan NBFC Company has successfully constructed a Smart Anganwadi in collaboration with MP Hibi Eden with an aim to facilitate growth of the young children by providing a premium infrastructural experience to them. It was inaugurated by Honorable MP- Shri Hibi Eden along with Mr. George M George, Deputy Managing Director, Muthoot Finance on 16th September, 2022 at 11:00 AM, in Moolampilly, Kerala.
Anganwadi Services as part of Umbrella Integrated Child Development Services Scheme, is a centrally sponsored scheme implemented by States/UTs that caters to the health and nutrition as well as the pre-education of the children. However, usually majority of these Anganwadis are found in dilapidated conditions with poor quality infrastructure.
Smart Anganwadi aims to provide access to superior quality education infrastructure to the underprivileged children. This Anganwadi is a finely constructed building with State-of-the-art design and architecture equipped with modern amenities like playschool, smart class room, kids playing area, kitchen and toilets. The total build up area is 650 Sq Ft (Ground Floor 650 Sq Ft & Roofing 900 Sq ft). As part of this initiative, Muthoot Finance has earmarked Rs. 25 Lakhs to empower the lower income families who cannot afford good quality education supported with high quality infrastructure.
In his speech, Mr. George M George, Deputy Managing Director, Muthoot Finance said, “Education has always been a key focus as part of our CSR projects and a significant portion of our annual CSR funds are attributed towards championing education. The Muthoot Group have always made a conscious effort to offer the accessibility to premium quality education services to the children from financially deprived background. These children are the future of the country and we strongly believe that if they are provided with the right support at the right age, we will soon witness them turning their dreams into reality. On that note, development of Smart Anganwadi is a much needed initiative and we are happy to support more such impactful and purposeful initiatives in the future.”
In his address, Hon’ble Shri Hibi Eden, MP said, “The government is focusing to bring transformation in the educational landscape of the country by making it more accessible, equitable, and inclusive for all. As Anganwadi lays the foundation stone for proper psychological, physical and social development of a child, therefore it becomes important to upgrade the infrastructure and the facilities. It gives me immense pleasure to witness leading players like Muthoot Finance to be part of such initiatives and offer collaborative efforts to uplift the society. “
