JEE Advanced 2024: Answer Key Released, Result Expected on June 9, Counseling to Begin on June 10
IIT Madras has released the provisional answer key for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam. On May 31, IIT Madras had released the exam response sheet. Candidates can view their response sheets on the official website jeeadv.ac.in. Objections to the answer key can be raised until June 3. The exam result will be announced on June 9.
After the declaration of results, JoSAA, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority, will commence counseling for admissions to IITs, NITs, and other top engineering colleges in the country from June 10.
Admission to Top IITs in the Country Through JEE Advanced
Through this exam, candidates can secure admission to the top engineering courses in the country at prestigious IITs after completing their 12th grade. Qualifying the first stage of the exam, i.e., JEE Mains, is essential to appear for JEE Advanced. JEE Mains is conducted by the National Testing Agency in online mode. Meanwhile, one of the top 7 IITs conducts the JEE Advanced exam every year. These IITs include IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, and IISc Bangalore.

This year, the JEE Advanced exam was conducted by IIT Madras. The exam took place in two shifts on May 26. JEE Advanced Paper 1 was held between 9 AM to 12 PM, followed by Paper 2 in the second shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Admission to BTech, MTech, Integrated Masters, and Dual Degree Programs at the top IITs in the country is granted based on JEE Advanced scores.
JEE Advanced Exam Pattern
The JEE Advanced exam is conducted in online mode. The exam comprises two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates are given 3 hours to solve both test papers. Both papers consist of questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There will be a total of 58 questions in one paper, meaning each section will have 18 questions.
Over 1,91,000 Candidates Registered
This year, over 1,91,000 candidates have registered for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam for admission to 17,385 seats across 23 IITs nationwide. A total of 14,15,110 candidates had qualified for the JEE Mains exam. Out of these, 2,50,284 candidates had qualified for JEE Advanced. This means that nearly 60% of candidates did not register for the exam. This is because candidates must score 75% marks in their 12th grade to be eligible to take the exam. Therefore, only 40% of candidates registered for the exam.
