Indore Water Crisis: CM Mohan Yadav Reviews Medical Response, Orders Free Treatment for Affected Patients

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has reviewed the medical response following the contaminated drinking water incident in Indore’s Bhagirathpura area, directing authorities to ensure free and best possible treatment for all affected patients.

According to the Chief Minister, a high-level review meeting was held at M.Y. Hospital after assessing the condition of patients. He stated that extensive health measures were immediately put in place after the incident came to light.

More than 40,000 residents have been health-screened in the affected area so far. A total of 212 patients were admitted to hospitals, out of which 50 have been discharged after recovery. The condition of the remaining 162 patients is reported to be stable, the CM said.

Dr Yadav also acknowledged the swift response of public representatives, district administration, government and private hospitals, and medical colleges, stating that their coordinated efforts helped bring the emergency situation under control.

In a separate post, the Chief Minister expressed condolences and said that the state government stands with full sensitivity alongside every affected family. He added that he personally visited hospitals in Indore, interacted with patients, their families, and treating doctors, and reviewed the ongoing medical arrangements.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely while corrective steps are being taken to ensure safe drinking water supply in the affected locality.
