ACB Arrests PHED Superintending Engineer Red-Handed While Accepting iPhone as Bribe in Jhalawar

In a major anti-corruption operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Mr. Vishnu Chand Goyal, Superintending Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Circle Jhalawar, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe in the form of an iPhone.

The accused was caught red-handed while receiving an Apple iPhone XR, estimated to be worth approximately ₹84,000. According to the complaint, the engineer had demanded an iPhone 16 Pro as illegal gratification in exchange for clearing bills related to handpump repairs, pipeline leakage repairs, and land connection works, and for not harassing the contractor. Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and arrested the official on the spot. Further investigation is underway.
